Ya’ll, those “patriotic” airplanes in the background are French. In a way I suppose that’s still appropriate for the 4th of July, but I don’t think that’s actually what they were going for...

Kinja'd!!!

I thought something looked off. Those aircraft are not anything any American team has flown...it’s a Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet, notably used by Patrouille de France.

It’s just probably a small department in web marketing that handled that ad and choose those photos, probably even left it to the web guy to come up with that photo.

Probably looked up “red, white, blue airplane” or something like that, grabbed the stock image and bob’s your uncle.

That ad was probably so far down the ladder and removed from any actual FCA input.

It’s likely a composite of multiple photos. There is a photo of the background, a photo of the planes and then photos of the individual Jeeps. I noticed that the grass around the wheels looks untouched. That would be unlikely if the Jeeps were driven there for an actual photo.

I certainly don’t have an Uncle named Bob but yes, everything else you say seems likely.....just stop talking about my Uncle Bob!

I mean, the French did help with the American Revolution to stick it to Britain, so I guess it fits. Plus, there’s the whole FCA merging with a French company ordeal.

Totally, which makes it even more egregious because I’m sure there are stock photos of the Thunderbirds
